When does Making Zen happen?

We typically hold this retreat twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. Our next retreat will be 27-31 May of 2024.

How long are the retreat videos available?

Each video is available for free for 24 hours after it is released. However, when the VIP Pass becomes available, you can purchase it to get lifetime access to all of the presentations from the retreat!

How do I log in to see the videos?

If you've signed up for the free retreat, there is no logging in necessary! You can just click the links from our daily emails, social media posts, or the schedule page to watch the workshops when they are available.

If you have the VIP Pass and want to log in to see the workshops and bonuses, you can do that on the Zen Stitching website here.

Will all the speakers get my email address?

No. The only person you'll get emails from after you sign up is me, Kate, so that I can send you all the updates for the retreat and links to each days events. After the summit is over, you'll continue to hear from me, but you can unsubscribe at any time.

As for the speakers, the only way your email address will be shared with them is if you opt-in for any of their freebies or worksheets during their presentation. That way you only hear from the people you really love and don't have to worry about getting added to 20 email lists that you're not interested in.

Why is my email needed for downloading freebies and PDFs?

Community is very important to us - Making Zen wouldn't exist without it. The number one reason we want this retreat to be free to access is because we think that everyone should have the opportunity to be a part of a wholesome, art-centered community. What does this have to do with downloads? Two things!

1. Our presenting artists put a lot of work into the free presentations and downloads they are giving away at the retreat. We want the retreat to be free to access for our community, but it's also really important to us to compensate the artists fairly for the time they've put into making the retreat happen. Collecting email addresses in exchange for the free download is a way of providing non-monetary compensation to the artists, so that they can keep doing art and we can keep offering the retreat for free.

2. We want to foster relationships between the presenting artists and the learning artists. If someone likes the presentation enough to want the free download, then we want to make sure our presenting artist has a way to connect to that person going forward, because we think that connection is beneficial to both people. Our community is incredible and we want to share that joy!

Please know that you do have rights as far as email privacy, and it is illegal for a business to continue sending you marketing emails after you've unsubscribed. That said, there are sometimes glitches with the software artists use - it's happened to us, too - where for some reason the unsubscribe does not go through. If that were to happen, you could reply to one of the emails you receive and request to be manually unsubscribed (we promise there are no hard feelings!). Our presenting artists would not hesitate to remove you manually, and if a violation of your privacy did occur, we'd request to be notified immediately, as we absolutely do not support such behaviour. If you have any further questions about this, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected].

Are the presentations live?

To avoid tech glitches, save my sanity and keep things easy for the speakers, the presentations are pre-recorded and will be released at the scheduled times.

I bought a VIP Pass for a previous retreat. Do I get the benefits for this retreat?

Because we have a different roster of artists for each retreat, the VIP Passes are also unique to each retreat. This allows us to make sure we are paying the artists fairly for the work they do to make each retreat happen!

Does the Retreat happen on Facebook?

The presentations will be available to view on the Making Zen website - the Facebook part is if you wish to join our community and share your projects with other like minded people. It is not necessary to have a Facebook account to participate in the retreat.

Are you still accepting speakers?

All of the speakers for Making Zen are carefully curated. That said, we're open to additional affiliates or potential speakers for the next online retreat. If you're interested in affiliate details or being considered for a future Making Zen online retreat, please get in touch by email at [email protected]

Are the videos captioned or transcribed?

We are working to make sure all of our videos are captioned! This is a work in progress, and we apologize if any of our captioning is inaccurate. If you notice any caption problems, please report them to [email protected].

Can I get a refund?

Because of the digital nature of this product, refunds are not available. If you're dissatisfied with your purchase, we'd love the opportunity to talk it through - please send a message to [email protected] with the details and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

I still have questions!

No problem! Send an email to [email protected] and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. If you're emailing during the retreat, please allow about 24 hours because we get a little busy during the event.
