In this workshop I'm going to be taking you through the process of learning how to do needle turn hand appliqué whilst creating a beautiful, floral hand appliqué cushion. The perfect project to fall in love with this wonderful, calming technique.
Materials
- Selection of fabrics (Listed in the worksheet file)
- Thread (match to fabrics used for appliqué pieces - 50 or 80wt)
- Needle for appliqué (e.g. John James Milliner’s embroidery sharp size 9 or 10)
- Fabric marker (use a colour that will show up well on fabric and wash out well)
- Contrasting basting thread & needle
- Pins
- Sharp scissors for fabric
- Scissors for paper
- Quilting Ruler
- Rotary Cutter (Optional)
- Iron
- Cellotape
- Sewing machine + threads (50wt)
- Zipper foot for sewing machine
- Fray Check (Optional)
